April 23rd, 2024, Serdang - The celebration of Hari Raya at Universiti Putra Malaysia was held simultaneously in every department. Preparation for this celebration began at the School of Graduate  Studies starting Monday, April 22nd, 2024. Traditional-themed decorations using items such as batik, tiered food containers (known as "tangkak"), and old radios created a festive atmosphere reminiscent of hometown Hari Raya celebrations. All staff attended wearing traditional Malay attire, such as baju kurung and baju Melayu complete with sampin, creating a vibrant Hari Raya ambiance.

The event commenced around 11 in the morning with opening remarks from the emcee followed by a prayer to bless the proceedings of the day. The Hari Raya menu included lemang (glutinous rice cooked in bamboo), rendang (spicy meat dish), soto (soup), assorted traditional cookies ("kuih raya"), durian sticky rice ("pulut durian"), briyani rice, cendol (a traditional dessert), and more.

Additionally, there was a instant photobooth provided to guests for free. Adjacent to it, a small game corner offered prizes to those who completed the provided games. The festivity of the Hari Raya celebration was further enhanced by the Graduate School's photo booth decorated by the decorating team for guests to take photos as much as they pleased.

This celebration is seen as one of the university's efforts to strengthen camaraderie among staff from all departments, from time to time. The celebration lasted until 3 in the afternoon with an expected attendance of 300 guests.
