STRUCTURAL BIOLOGY

This programme encompasses recent developments of modern biochemistry and structural biology. Topics focus on understanding structure  and function relationship of biological macromolecules, in particular of proteins and enzymes. Studies will involve   the current state-of-the-art biophysical techniques such as X-ray crystallography, Small Angle X-ray Scattering (SAXS) Electron Microscopy, Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry techniques. In addition, the use of hybrid methods, including the combined use of computational tools with experimental data, to facilitate further structural elucidation of challenging macromolecular complexes and their interactions is being undertaken.
