May 23^rd, 2023, Serdang - May 23rd, 2023, Serdang - The School of Graduate Studies (SGS) received delegates from the University of the Philippines Los Baños Graduate School as a part of their benchmarking initiatives. The delegates were led by the Dean of Graduate School (GS), Jomar F. Rabajante, accompanied by the Secretary; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pamela A. Custodio, the Quality Assurance Officer; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ariel L. Babierra, and two (2) more officers from UPLB Graduate School.

At SGS, the delegates were welcomed by the Dean of SGS; Prof. Dr. Zalilah Mohd Shariff, the Deputy Deans as well as the present officers of SGS. The session was held at the Bilik Mesyuarat 1 (BM1), SGS from 2.30 p.m till 5.00 p.m. This was apparently the first visit made by UPLB Graduate School to SGS, UPM. After the welcoming remarks by both parties, the session was then followed with the briefing by Prof. Dr. Zalilah and three (3) Deputy Deans of SGS regarding the SGS’s functions as well as services offered. During the session, there were several topics been discussed including the promotional efforts of the postgraduate programmes, admission and registration procedures, management of students’ records and digitalization initiatives, student/faculty/alumni affairs, and the scholarship administrations. The session also highlighted the potential collaboration between the two universities, particularly in the joint-research activities, establishment of dual/joint degree programmes, and student exchange programmes.

The event ended with the exchange of souvenirs by both Universities and a photography session.
