October 14^th, 2023, SERDANG - Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), through the Graduate School (SPS), successfully conducted an orientation session for new postgraduate students who registered for the first semester of the 2023/2024 session virtually using the Zoom Meetings and YouTube Live applications. A total of 832 new postgraduate students, both local and international, attended the 5-hour orientation.

The session commenced with a welcoming address by the Dean, followed by a comprehensive briefing and explanation by the Deputy Dean of the Graduate School on various perspectives, including academic matters, thesis guidelines, student affairs, learning support, financial assistance, and mobility opportunities. The orientation continued with presentations from the following responsible centers directly involved in the management and services for postgraduate students:

1. Bursar's Office
2. University Health Center
3. Infocomm Development Center
4. Auxiliary Police & Security Center
5. Centre For the Advancement of Language Competence
6. Housing and Placement Division

Q&A sessions were held throughout the orientation, allowing students to obtain clearer information from representatives of the SPS and relevant departments through the chat feature on both platforms. The orientation concluded with a photography session at 1:00 PM.
