She was accorded the certification after completing a CeIO course successfully, held in last February, March and April.

Public Service Department Director-General Tan Sri Mohamad Zabidi Zainal presented the certification during the fifth CeIO Convocation held at the Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur, recently.

“I am thankful that I have been commissioned and the first from UPM to have received such certification but I realize that this recognition comes with big responsibility and mandate,” Haslida said in an interview recently.

According to her, UPM had implemented various integrity empowerment program since the formation of UPM Integrity Unit on June, 2014, through various related programs such as talks, forums, site visits and exhibitions which were actively carried out to instill awareness among UPM staff and officers.

“It is my hope that in the first five years, I will be able to spread all the good values among students and staff.

“It is my ardent hope that more officers and staff from UPM who are ethical and of integrity can be produced in our efforts to achieve the university’s vision in line with UPM Strategic Plan,” she added.

CeIO is a training program held under the purview of the Centre of Integrity Development Corporate (CIDC) and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to produce CeIO officers, capable of discharging their duties relating to integrity in an effort to strengthen the delivery services in both public and private sectors.

CeIO officers also act as an agent of change and an expert where integrity-related subjects are referred to in an organization to complete on-going efforts to strengthen integrity, combat corruption and abuse of power.

Haslida added that four modules contained in the course were integrity management, rules and judiciary, adherence and monitoring and presentation of an organizational integrity management plan.

Participants also had to carry out Community and Social Responsibility (CSR) programs towards instilling integrity values among members of the public, she said, adding that she and her team members chose to do a gotong royong program and kenduri rakyat, called “gejobos” at Kampung Parit Baru Pekan, Sabak Bernam. – UPM
