Oath-Taking Ceremony for New Postgraduate Students Semester 2, 2017/2018

February 20th, 2018 - witnessed 857 new postgraduate students for semester 2, 2017/2018 participating in the Oath-Taking ceremony at the Main Hall, Pusat Kebudayaan Sultan Salahuddin Shah, UPM. Officiated by the YBhg. Prof. Datin Paduka Dato’ Dr. Aini Ideris, Vice Chancellor UPM, the new group comprised local and international students from more than 30 countries. Also in attendance were YBhg. Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Saripan, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International), YBhg. Prof. Dr. Mohd Roslan Sulaiman, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), faculty deans, directors of institutes, Student Representative Council (MPP), UPM International Students’ Association (UPMISA) and Peer Support Group (PSG).

As needs mentioning, the aim of the declarative ceremony, among other things, is to enhance the bond and elevate the level of communication between the university management committee and the new postgraduate students.

The session continued with the briefings and clarifications by the deputy deans of the School of Graduate Studies on matters covering the following perspectives: Academic, Thesis, Student Affairs, Learning Support, Financial Assistance and Mobility followed by the presentation of Director of Putra International Centre exposing the details concerning Administration of student passes and Mobility.

Towards the close, the audience were also introduced to the International Student Association (UPMISA).  The International Students Association was formed to improve the international students' experience in the UPM and provide an opportunity to share experiences, network and integrate with fellow students. 

The event started at 8.00 am and ended at 1.00 pm.
