October 2, 2023, SERDANG - The Graduate School (SPS), in collaboration with the Admissions Division and the Academic Administration Division, participated in the promotional event organized by EMGS, known as the Study in Malaysia Education Fair Uzbekistan 2023, from September 16^th to 20^th 2023. Ms. Rahmawati Umar (Head of the SPS Admission Unit) was appointed as the ambassador to promote UPM's postgraduate programs during the event.

The promotional program, which took place in three major cities: Tashkent, Samarkand, and Andijan, received a warm reception, with a total of 1,845 visitors. The program was officially inaugurated by His Excellency Ambassador Ilham Tuah bin Illias on September 16, 2023. Various opportunities for collaboration between UPM and Uzbekistan were identified during the promotional program, particularly in the fields of agrobiotechnology, human resource development, and tourism.

Overall, UPM's participation in this promotional activity received a very encouraging response. It was observed that UPM has a strong market potential in Uzbekistan if UPM's visibility is consistently strengthened in the country. Among the factors that attracted visitors, in addition to Malaysia being an Islamic country, was UPM's high ranking in various aspects of education. Prospective postgraduate candidates interested in UPM were also found to be proficient in English, with a good understanding of the IELTS requirements, scoring at least 6.
