Seminar exposes students to issues on economic integration

SERDANG – Students of Bachelor of Economics, Faculty of Economy and Management, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), recently organized a seminar on “Prospect & Challenges: Economic Integration” to expose the participants to the area of economic integration.

Programme Director, Dr.Mohd Naseem Niaz said economic integration played a crucial role in the economic growth of all countries, and through the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA), Malaysia’s growth is expected to be higher.

“This programme gives an opportunity for students to interact with experts in the field of integrity. It is also aimed at instilling awareness, courtesy, empathy, and togetherness among UPM community and residents as well as the public in general,” he said.

Participant, Goh Yi Wai, described the programme as one that was able to boost one’s self-confidence and communication skills.

Also present as panellists in the seminar were Director of Khazanah Research Institute (KRI), Junaidi Mansor and KRI Joint Researcher, Aidonna Jan Ayub.

On the sidelines of the programme, students were also exposed to charity and other social responsibility activities which had been conducted by UPM such as Free Meals which were distributed to the poor and needy.

The programme saw the participation of 90 students for free of charge, with the objective of increasing their knowledge on issues pertaining to economic integration. – UPM.
