December 8^th 2023, PAHANG - The School of Graduate Studies (SGS) UPM has organized the SGS Empowerment Workshop 2024-2026 on December 8^th-10^th, 2023, at Cheringin Hills, Convention & Spa Resort, Janda Baik, Pahang. This 3-day, 2-night workshop was attended by all SGS staff in an effort to strengthen collective engagement in the management of the department in the upcoming years.

The main objective of the workshop was to collaboratively formulate a comprehensive strategic plan to improve the processes/structures of services offered to postgraduate students at UPM. This encompassed all procedures from the intake process using the PutraEnroll system to students graduating in the university's convocation ceremony using the e-SMP UPM system. Preparation for the workshop began approximately 2 months prior, involving all heads and staff according to their respective units, with guidance from the Deputy Dean of the relevant portfolio.

The workshop included team-building activities in the form of recreational exercises, a session with the counsellor, and an EKSA appreciation session on the first day. The second and third days were dedicated entirely to the presentation of the strategic plan by each unit and a session for improving the proposed suggestions. Feedback received was taken into account in restructuring the implementation plans of the relevant units for the period 2024-2026. The findings from the workshop were gathered and updated by the workshop secretariat. It was aligned with UPM's vision and mission as envisioned by YBhg. Dato’ Prof. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, the Vice-Chancellor of UPM.
