UPM DONATES RM60,000 TO MINISTRY OF EDUCATION FLOOD RELIEF FUND

PUTRAJAYA, Jan 9 - Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) made a contribution totalling RM60,000 to the Flood Relief Fund, Ministry of Education (MOE), in aiding flood victims in the flood-hit states.

The donation was presented by UPM Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dato' Dr. Mohd Fauzi Ramlan to the Education Minister II, Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh at the launch of the ministry’s Flood Relief Fund, here.



At the event, a total of RM1.5 million was collected, contributions made from various public and private higher education institutions (IPT).

Previously, MOE initiated its Post-Flood Operation on January 1, which mobilised more than 50,000 student volunteers and IPT staff nationwide to provide expertise, essential goods to the flood victims as well as help with the cleaning works.

Meanwhile, UPM also initiated 3D Flood Aid Volunteer Mission First Phase from January 2 to 5 (Rantau Panjang, Kelantan); Second phase on January 8 (Bera, Pahang) and Third Phase from January 8 to 11 (Tanah Merah, Pasir Mas and Kuala Krai, Kelantan), consisting of 303 UPM students and staff. - UPM
