UPM-Sarawak Forestry Department In Joint Forest Management

BINTULU, Oct 10 - Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Sarawak Forestry Department have embarked on joint research efforts to develop staff training, curriculum for service training scheme for forest rangers and collaborative forest management in the giant, rugged Borneo island, particularly Sarawak.

Both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to signify collaboration and cooperation to develop strategic plans for all national parks in Sarawak. The signing was held at Dewan Sri Kenyalang, UPM.

The MoU was signed by UPM Vice-Chancellor, Prof Datin Paduka Dr Aini Ideris, while Sarawak Forestry Department was represented by its Senior Assistant Director, Jack Ak Liam, witnessed by UPM Pro-Chancellor, Tan Sri Mohamad Bakke Saleh.
